With the popularity of Comic Con expanding all around the country during the past several years, Frank Patz and Eternal Comics made an announcement last March that Long Island, NY will finally be getting it’s own Comic Con. This launching will be the first annual Eternal Con Pop Culture Toy Show which will be held on Saturday, June 15, 2013 at the Cradle of Aviation Museum in Garden City, NY.

As a huge toy and memorabilia collector, Frank Patz launched http://www.eternalcollector.com in 2004. The site is a showcase for toys and models of all types. It soon became the ‘must-visit’ website and Mecca for all toy enthusiasts. The site was re-launched in 2011 in preparation for the upcoming Eternal Con events in the making.

Special guests for the 2013 Eternal Con will include: award winning creator and Marvel artist Arthur Suydam; veteran comic book artist Sean Chen; Illustrator, Writer, and Filmmaker Billy Tucci; G.I. Joe A Real American Hero legendary Writer, Artist, Actor, Editor, and Consultant Larry Hama; Valiant and Defiant founder, and a staple in the comic book industry Jim Shooter; Art Creator John Cebollero; Comic book creator Nelson Decastro; and the list goes forever on and on covering all aspects of the comic and media industries.

The event will feature a Car Show, an Artist Alley, a Costume Contest, hourly raffles, toys and other collectables, diorama displays, vendors, original comic art for sale, comic book sales, and other special events. As the website describes it, this will be 2 floors of Pop Culture madness! I have to mention that the car show will have vehicles from TV shows and movies. And at the end of the day, there’s a chance to win a ride in the iconic 1966 Batmobile!

Since this announcement, throughout the month of May, nearly a day went by with new info of guests and add-on features coming to the event. The excitement has been building up at an extraordinary pace. “For too long, Long Island has lacked the excitement that only a comic-con can bring. ETERNAL CON will feature an incredible selection of collectibles, posters, comic books, and other Pop Culture,” said Mr. Patz. “When you have incredible collections exhibited next to vendors you get fantastic synergy, that’s what made EternalCollector.com such a hit when we launched, and that’s what will make ETERNAL CON a great show for vendors, the public, and collectors.”
